The Partner Manager's Guide to Salesforce Hygiene
Dirty CRM data quietly destroys partner programs. Here is the hygiene discipline that keeps attribution and reporting trustworthy.
Garbage In, No Program Out
Every partner metric you report rests on CRM data. If that data is dirty, your attribution is fiction and your decisions are guesses. Hygiene is not glamorous, but it is foundational.
Standardize Partner Fields
Define a single, governed set of partner fields, including partner of record, deal source, and tier, then enforce them. Free-text fields are where attribution goes to die.
Automate the Catch
Validation rules and required fields at registration prevent bad data from entering. It is far cheaper to block dirty data than to clean it later.
Audit on a Cadence
Run a monthly hygiene review covering duplicate accounts, untagged partner deals, and stale opportunities. Small, regular cleanups beat the occasional heroic data project.
