5 Key Metrics Every Partner Manager Should Track
Learn about the essential KPIs that will help you measure and optimize your partner program performance effectively.
Measure What Matters
Most partner programs are drowning in data but starving for insight. The answer is not more dashboards. It is picking the five metrics that actually tell you whether your program is healthy and moving in the right direction.
1. Partner-Sourced Revenue
This is the headline number. What percentage of new ARR can you directly attribute to partner introductions? World-class programs target 30 percent or more. If you are below 10 percent, your partners are not activated. They are merely enrolled.
How to improve it: Run co-sell sprints with your top 10 partners. Map their existing customer base against your ideal customer profile. Introduce deal registration incentives.
2. Partner Engagement Score
A composite metric tracking portal logins, training completions, deal registrations, and MDF utilization. A partner with a low engagement score is a churning partner. You just do not know it yet.
Target: 80 percent or more of certified partners active in the trailing 90 days.
3. Time to First Deal
How long does it take from partner signature to first closed deal? Best-in-class programs get this under 60 days. If your average is six months, your onboarding is the bottleneck, not partner quality.
4. Partner Net Promoter Score
Ask how likely a partner is to recommend your program to a peer. This single question surfaces more signal than any QBR deck. Run it quarterly. Act on the detractors immediately, because they are usually right.
5. Expansion Revenue from Partner Accounts
Partner accounts should expand faster than direct accounts because they have a trusted advocate in the room. If they are not, your partner success motion needs attention.
Building Your Dashboard
These five metrics should fit on a single page. If your partner reporting requires more than one slide to summarize health, you are tracking complexity, not performance. Simplify ruthlessly.
